Education Programs

The Academy's programs reflect the diverse interests of the community that we serve. While school programs are currently our most extensive effort, we also offer public tours, scout programs, teacher workshops, summer eco-camps, and various other events throughout the year.

Graduate and Undergraduate Programs

The Academy offers annual college level field-oriented classes at restoration sites in Phinizy Swamp, Augusta, GA, Kennecott-Ridgeway Gold Mine in Ridgeway, SC, and a sandhills stream in Aiken, SC. Classes provide an introduction and overview to aquatic and terrestrial restoration ecology and field experience at restoration sites.

For Teachers
Serving the teachers of the CSRA is one of the Academy's most important functions. In providing field trips to their students, offering a site for student independent research, loaning resources for teacher use, or offering training opportunities in environmental education, we support teachers in their efforts to enhance student knowledge of and interest in a science and environmental education.
